i BiSCOTTONi AMERiCANi

Mattia here with his first aproach to pastry! Both dad and I don’t like to make sweets and cakes, we quite like eating it though… 😉

It was a Sunday afternoon, I was really bored, but a thought I had a couple days ago cheered me up: Chocolate Chip Cookies, big, buttery, soft… like the American ones!!

My eyes brighted up, and so did my phone screen when I called my friend Anna to ask for a recipe, since she’s a fan of baking and sweets. Here’s what she told me:

180gr of flour

120gr of butter

120gr of brown sugar

2 eggs

90gr of chocolate chip (better if dark)

A pinch of salt

4gr of baking powder

First thing to do is to mix flour with sugar, salt and baking powder, then take the softened diced butter and squeeze it with hands mixing it to the flour untill you’ll reach a “sandy” texture.

At this point you have to add the eggs. Keep mixing untill the eggs incorporate well.

Take a bakery tray, put some greaseproof paper on it and place the cookie dough made into thick disks, they don’t have to be precise, keep it quite rustic, it feels more homemade.

The oven at 180°C, the time depends on the size of the cookies, it took almost 20 minutes for my cookies to be ready… Then I let them cool for 10 minutes… Reeeeally hard, they were so scented, the butter and chocolate smell flooded all the house.. Oh God!!

Thanks again to my dear friend Anna for the delicious recipe! She owns a blog too! She’s the queen of bakery!! The link below!
